Answer:

y + 2 = 4x...(1)

y = 3x - 1...(2)

Now, by substituting eqn(2) into eqn(1). it becomes

(3x -1) +2= 4x...(3)

Solving eqn(3) for x, we get

3x - 1 + 2 =4x

-1+2=4x - 3x

1 =x

therefore x=1

Now put x=1 into the eqn(1) or eqn (2). That is the equation of your choice

Choosing eqn (1)

y + 2 = 4x

y + 2 = 4(1)

y + 2 =4

y = 4-2

y = 2
