Hi there!

When dividing fractions, we flop over the fraction that we divide by and multiply by it instead. Look what happens:

(1)/(4) :(9)/(1) =(1)/(4) *(1)/(9)

Now we multiply the numerator by the numerator and the denominator times the denominator:

(1)/(36)

Now we do the same thing with the following fractions:

(9)/(1) :(1)/(4) =(9)/(1) *(4)/(1) =36

Therefore, our answers are:
(1)/(36) and 36.

Hope this helps!

Explanation:

= (1)/(4) / 9

= (1)/(4) * (1)/(9)

= (1)/(36)

\:

= 9 / (1)/(4)

= 9 * 4

= 36
