The year 1963 was a very pivotal period in U.S. history. Many controversial events occurred. Some of the most influential would be Martin Luther King’s March on Washington. The purpose of the event was to advocate for civil and economic rights of African Americans. Then came the early involvement of the U.S. in the Vietnam war. And lastly the tragic assassination of president John F. Kennedy. 1963 had many impactful events both positive and negative. Through these events it was shown that things wouldn’t quite be the same, for better or for worse.
