How do the components allow the TV to do its work?

A TV turns video signal into beams of tiny particles called electrons. The TV then shoots these beams at the back of the screen through a picture tube. Finally, the beams “paint” the pixels on the screen in a series of rows and columns to make the picture.

Television is really a three-part invention: the TV camera that turns a picture and sound into a signal; the TV transmitter that sends the signal through the air; and the TV receiver (the TV set in your home) that captures the signal and turns it back into picture and sound.
