If movement is in one direction in a straight line, distance and displacement are the same.

List the known and unknown quantities from the question.

u = initial velocity = 0 m/s

v = final velocity = a) ? m/s b) ? m/s c) ? m/s

a = acceleration = 3 m/s²

t = time interval = 25 s

Use the following kinematic equation to calculate the velocity of the airplane at each of the three differen times.

v = u + at

Since u = 0, it can be left out of the equation.

v = at

One second

v = (3 m/s² × 1 s) = 3 m/s

You can do the velocity at 5 s and 25 s.
