I'm not entirely sure if this is right, but I think that answer C. makes the most sense.

Step-by-step explanation:

It's really the only one that seems like a reasonable thing to do while reading a passage. The first two are basically the same thing and seem more like filler choices, and the last one doesn't make much sense.
