Anatomy refers to the subdiscipline of biology that studies the structure of an organism and its constituent parts.
Anatomy allows us to understand the state of internal equilibrium (homeostasis) of biological systems by integrating the functions of different body parts in an organism.
In order to maintain steady homeostatic conditions, it is imperative to balance the different types of chemical reactions (anabolic and catabolic reactions) that occur inside the cells of an organism.
