When you drink through a straw, is it more accurate to say the liquid is pushed up a straw rather than sucked up? What exactly is pushing?

Answer: It is more accurate to say the liquid is pushed up the straw this is because the pressure the atmosphere pushes the liquid which is what you are pushing. This is why you can't drink through a straw on the moon because there isn't any atmosphere on the moon or in space.
