Answer is AXY = 60 degrees

Step by step

Angle BXC is a 90 degree angle so angle AXB is also 90 degrees

We know the two angles inside AXB are
6x - 30 and 2x and they will equal 90

6x - 30 + 2x = 90

Combine

8x - 30 = 90

Add 30 to both sides to isolate variables

8x - 30 + 30 = 90 + 30

Combine

8x = 120

Divide both sides to solve for x

8/8 x = 120/8

x = 15

Now let’s find AXY by substituting our x value of 15 into the equation and solve

6x - 30

(6)(15) - 30

90 - 30

Angle AXY = 60

Let’s check our work by finding angle YXB

2x

(2) (15)

Angle YXB = 30

Angle YXB and AXY should equal 90

60 + 30 = 90
