6y-12=3x
6y=3x+12
Y = (3x+12)/6
Y= ½x+2

Equation: Y= ½x+2
Slope: 1/2
Y-intercept: (0,2)

Answer: Y = 1/2x + 2

Step-by-step explanation: In a problem like this, you always want to follow these steps: Distribution, Combine Like Terms, Get the variable on the same side, and Simplify. (Follow these in order)

1. 6y - 12 = 3x Add 12 to both sides to get the variable by itself

+ 12 +12

2. 6y = 3x + 12 You cant add a variable with a number (Just like you cant combine an apple and an orange)

3. 6y/6 = 3x/6 + 12/6 Divide everything by 6

Y = 1/2x + 2
