3= d
4 = a

Whenever multiplying powers, you add them. When dividing powers, you subtract them. When multiplying anything to the power of zero, the answer is always one. To find what a^-2 is as a fraction, you put 1 as the numerator and then the negative power turns into a positive power. For example - (a^-3) would turn into 1/a^3.
