x=r/2+y/2

Explanation:

2x-y=r

you want x all by itself, move y first by adding y

2x = r + y

divide both r and y by 2 to leave x all by itself.

2x/2 = r/2 + y/2

2/2 = 1 so it's really 1x

x= r/2 + y/2
