they can because when you have 1st person, it’s the real deal. they saw everything and they can tell what was fully going on. 2nd person, they didn’t see ad much as first person, and it might have twisted it a tiny bit. 3rd person, might not be closely correct, you could have slightly known what happened but not totally sure, so the story might be totally different from 1st person.
