\\ \sf\longmapsto 3x+4y=32

X-intercept:-

  • y=0

\\ \sf\longmapsto 3x+4(0)=32

\\ \sf\longmapsto 3x=32

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=(32)/(3)

  • (32/3,0)

Y-intercept:-

  • x=0

\\ \sf\longmapsto 3(0)+4y=32

\\ \sf\longmapsto 4y=32

\\ \sf\longmapsto y=8

  • (0,8)

Answer:

  • (32/3, 0)
  • (0, 8)

Explanation:

The x- intercept is the point when y = 0:

  • 3x + 4*0 = 32 ⇒ 3x = 32 ⇒ x = 32/3

The y- intercept is the point when x = 0:

  • 3*0 + 4y = 32 ⇒ 4y = 32 ⇒ y = 8
