Why do student A and student B have different interpretations of history?

Because student A may have had their parents view in history which can differ from what student B was taught because where someone immigrated from and where they lived and how they grew up history can be interpreted very differently. Also history is told by stories being passed down and told for generations and everyone is told something a little different.
