how do you find the radius of a cookie? i wish i could say V=pie•r^2•h but my science teacher is telling me that because a cookie can be irregular that’s not an accurate way to measure.

Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

If the cookie is irregular, it will have no fixed number as a radius----depending on where you measure from the center to the circumference, it could be one of several values---

You COULD measure the circumference then perhaps the average diameter could be calculated as: circumference/ pi = diameter

then radius = 1/2 diameter

I think your teacher is saying the cookie is IRREGULAR in VOLUME (or thickness) but not in SHAPE

so you could use the method I mentioned above ....or you could use the AREA of the cookie ( rather than the VOLUME)

AREA = pi r^2 then radius would be = √ ( area / pi)
