A more efficient way to calculate times that are later than 12:00pm would be to consider that 12:00pm is the middle of the day. With that in mind, we can add a number to find the military time of the provided time. An example of this would be 2:00pm.

12:00pm is midday. When we add 2 and 12, we get 14. Therefore, 14:00 is 2:00 in military time. This same principle can be applied to any clock hour within a military standard time.
