Answer:

147

Explanation:

Given equation:

(w)/(-7) =-21

For the given numbers to be solutions it means, when we substitute w with any of the given numbers 147, -147, 3,-3 the equation given is true - the left side of the equal sign has to be equal with the right side of the equal sign.

left side = right side

Given solutions:

147, -147, 3, -3

Notice the on the right side we have a negative number -21 so on the left side since we already have a negative number -7, w can not be negative therefore we eliminate the negative values -147 and -3

Eliminate negative values -147, -3 from being possible solutions, and check for positive values 147, 3 if they are solutions for
(w)/(-7) =-21:

→substitute w by 147

(147)/(-7) = -21\\-21 = -21

substitute w by 3

(3)/(-7) =-21\\-.429 = -21

Conclusion:

The solution for the equation
(w)/(-7) =-21 is w = 147
