Since these angles are a pair of exterior alternate angles, then they are supplementary and add up to 180°

$(3x + 2) + (2x + 23) = 180 \\ 3x + 2 + 2x + 23 = 180 \\ 5x = 180 - 23 - 2 \\ 5x = 180 - 25 \\ 5x = 155 \\ x = (155)/(5) = 31$
