The star Betelgeuse is part of the constellation Orion. Betelgeuse is about 900 times larger than the Sun. However, from Earth, Betelgeuse appears as a red dot. Why does the Sun appear so much larger and brighter from Earth than Betelgeuse?

Explanation: We see the sun more brighter because of the distance, if Betelgeuse was also the same distance from Earth as the sun we would see Betelgeuse Brighter.
