1) Find the mass of 250.0 mL of benzene. The density of benzene is 0.8765 g/mL.

7) What volume of silver metal will weigh exactly 2500.0 g. The density of silver is 10.5 g/cm3.

  • Volume=250mL
  • Density=0.8765g/mL

\\ \sf\longmapsto Density=(Mass)/(Volume)

\\ \sf\longmapsto Mass=Density* volume

\\ \sf\longmapsto Mass=250(0.8765)

\\ \sf\longmapsto Mass=219.12g

#2

  • Mass=2500g
  • Density=10.5g/cm^3

\\ \sf\longmapsto Density=(Mass)/(Volume)

\\ \sf\longmapsto Volume=(Mass)/(Density)

\\ \sf\longmapsto Volume=(2500)/(10.5)

\\ \sf\longmapsto Volume=238.09cm^3

1. Find mass of 250.0 ml of benzene : -

given data :

  • density = 0.8765 g/ml

  • volume = 250 ml

we know the relation between mass, volume and density

that is

\boxed{ \boxed{density = (mass)/(volume) }}

  • 0.8765 = (m)/(250)

  • m = 250 * 0.8765

  • m = 219.125 \: \: grams

  • \approx219.12 \: g

7. Find volume of silver metal :

given data :

  • mass = 2500.0 g

  • density = 10.5 g/ cm³

Since we already know the relation, let's solve form volume :

  • 10.5 = (2500)/(v)

  • v = (2500)/(10.5)

  • v = 238.095 \: \: cm {}^(3)

  • \approx238.1 \: \: cm {}^(3)
