Given :

  • A triangular prism .

To Find :-

  • The total surface area of the prism .

Solution :-

From the given figure we can see that the prism is made up of

  • 2 triangular surfaces .
  • 3 rectangular surfaces .

And the base and height of each triangle is ,

  • base = 7 inch
  • height = 5 inch

And the dimensions of each rectangle is ,

  • length = 13 inch
  • breadth = 6.1 inch

Therefore , the Total surface area is ,

→ TSA = 2( area of each ∆) +3(area of each rectangle)

→ TSA = 2 ( 1/2 * 7 * 5)in.² + 3(13*6.1) in.²

→ TSA = 2 * 35/2 in.² + 3* 79.3 in.²

→ TSA = 35 in.² + 237.9 in.²

TSA = 272.9 273 in.²

Hence the TSA of prism is 273 in.² .
