Answer:

Below

Explanation:

I'm going to tell you how to solve these instead of just giving you the answer because trust me it will really help you in the future.

For questions which ask you to solve for a variable like x, n, and t, what you want to do is take the number that does not have a variable attached to it and move it to the other side of the equation. This will of course, cause the sign to change - either from negative to positive or positive to negative.

I will do one for you : 7n + 12 = -23

7n = -23 - 12

7n = -35

Divide both sides by 7

n = -5

Now for questions with fractions in them you want to multiply each side by the number that is "attached" to the fraction. Then you go ahead and move your terms around and solve.

I will do one for you : k / 4 + 6 = -2

k + 24 = -8

k = -8 - 24

k = -32

Word problem 1.

Since our base salary is 500, that number does NOT need to be multiplied by any variable. What does need to be multiplied by a variable is the 90 because it is per ___ unit. Here is the equation that models this:

Let x represent the number of products.

$5,000 = 500 + 9x

Use the steps above to solve.

Word problem 2.

The base price of the pizza is $9, which does not need to be multiplied. Again what needs to be multiplied is the 1.25 because it is a per ___ unit. Here is the equation that models this :

Let x represent the number of toppings

$15.25 = 9 + 1.25x

Again use the steps I listed above to solve.

Hope this helps! Best of luck <3
