Have not watched the video and couldn’t find one specific one so ima guess since no-one else answered…
Basically it’s about how social media becomes addicting to many people, both teens and adults— as well as kids; although teens, who find technology more accessible due to being born in a generation raised to understand technology, may struggle more with this addiction. The notification sound or pop-ups create a rush of endorphins in the brain due to the gambling-like reward system of messaging and social media; until opening the app, a notification could either be something negative— a hate comment, someone spamming, etc.— could be something positive / reinforcing— such as likes or comments on one’s post— and, in rare cases, can act as the incentive / reward— for example, someone’s crush replying to their comment, or a message back from someone they’d been wanting to message with for a while. This system encourages the brain to seek out social media, wanting to receive the rewards.
