Based on the scientist’s conclusion, we can infer that older rocks are pushed toward the bottom, whereas younger rocks are present at the top of all of the layers. This is stated in the Law of Superposition; a rock in an undisturbed sequence is younger than that which is below it and older than that which is above it.
