i believe the scale factor is 3. if you divide 9 ( A) by 3 ( B) you get 3. Whatever the scale factor is you have to multiply or divide ( depending on what the question says) on every side.

Figure B is a copy of figure A, it's just shrunk.

The scale factor is 1/3 because

9 ÷ 3 = 3

&

3.6 ÷ 3 = 1.2
