I believe we are looking at the equation
2 x 24 = 2X and want to find what 6X would be

So to start off we would want to find X
2 x 24 -> 48
48 = 2X
So divide both sides by 2 to get
24 = X

So now to find 6X
6 x 24 = 144
So 6X = 144
