Superconductive wires cost more to make and install then copper wires, so why would a manufacturer of electrical equipment; like generators, consider switching to superconducting wires for the electromagnetic windings of the generator?

They can transmit electricity with no loss of energy. Superconducting wire's advantages over copper include higher maximum current densities and they can transmit electricity with no loss of energy.
