remove brackets from both sides

6 - 2x + 8 < 5 - 5x

14 - 2x < 5 - 5x

Move so variable is on one side

14 - 2x + 5x < 5

Move so constants are on one side

-2x + 5x < 5 - 14

Collect like terms

3x < -9

Divide both sides by 3

X < -3
