15^8 / 1^1 (^ is to the power of, exponents)

Explanation:

just like the example answer, 4^2 turns into 4^2 / 1.

IMPORTANT!! if the exponent in the denominator (bottom), negative the expression will be moved to the numerator (top) and become positive.

A negative exponent means that factor is on the wrong side of the fraction.

For example,
8^(-11) can be written as
(8^(-11))/(1) and to get rid of that negative exponent, the
8^(-11) gets moved to the bottom and the exponent becomes positive.


8^(-11) = (1)/(8^(11))

And if the exponent is negative in the bottom, then you move that factor to the top:


(1)/(y^(-11)) = (y^(11))/(1) and we just write that as
y^(11), since the "over 1" isn't needed.

Based on what we just talked about above, how would you rewrite that with a positive exponent?


(1)/(15^(-8)) = (15^8)/(1^1)

And that
1^1 is only required because of that system you're using.
