The perpendicular bisector on a line segment AB is in the attached image.

Given: Segment ABTo

Construct: The perpendicular bisector to segment AB.

Solution: A segment is a line with two ends with a specific length. A perpendicular bisector is a line intersecting the other line segment into two equal lengtsh at an angle of 90 degrees.

Steps of construction: With help of unmarked straightedge draw segment, AB.

Open the compass more than half of the length of the AB segment and from point A, draw an arc above and below AB.

Now, with that same compass from B draw arcs cutting the previous arcs made above and below the AB label them C and D.

Draw a straight line from C to D which will be the perpendiular bisector of segemnt AB.
