Explanation:

Perimeter = distance round the shape

2y + 11 + y + 3 +3y - 2 + 10 = 58

Collect like terms

2y + y + 3y = 58 - 11 - 3 + 2 - 10

6y = 36

y = 36/6

y = 6

Length PQ = 3y - 2 = 3(6) -.2 = 18 - 2 = 16
