Let’s make an equation
Let almonds = x
pistachios = x + 4 (since “$4 more”
Now she buys 2 pound pistachios and 3 pounds of almonds (totals to $48)
It would be:
2(x + 4) + 3(x) = 48
2x + 8 + 3x = 48
5x = 40, x = 8
x + 4 = pistachios. 8 + 4 = 12

Solution; Almonds = $8
Pistachios = $12
