M1V1 = M2V2
Plug in the given values and solve for V2:
(3.00 M)(10 mL) = (2.00 M)(V2)
V2 = 15 mL
The question asks how much water should be added to the original solution, so subtract by the original amount, V1:
15 - 10 = 5 mL
