Faster jet = 650

Slower jet = 650 - 89 = 561

Explanation:

Given

total distance apart = 4844

t = 4 hours

r1 = r

r2 = r - 89

Equations

d = r * t

r*t + (r - 89)*t = 4844

Solution

r*4 + (r - 89)*4 = 4844

4r + 4r - 356 = 4844 Combine the left

8r - 356 = 4844 Add 356 to both sides

8r = 4844 + 356

8r = 5200 Divide both sides by 8

r = 5200/8

r = 650
