Answer: 10.75 inches

Explanation:

Given information:

First hour = + 18 1/2 (forward)

Second hour = - 13.5 (backward)

Third hour = + 46/8 (forward)

Given expression deducted from the questions

Total Distance = First hour + Second hour + Third hour

Substitute values into the expression

Total Distance = 18 1/2 + (-13.5) + 46/8

Convert to decimals

Total Distance = 18.5 - 13.5 + 5.75

Simplify by subtraction/addition

Total Distance = 5 + 5.75

Total Distance =
\boxed{10.75\:inches\\}

Hope this helps!! :)
