The newest Prius claims to be able to drive about 54 miles for every 1 gallon of gasoline it uses. If gasoline costs $3.79 per gallon, how much will it cost to drive all the way from Los Angeles to San Francisco, a total distance of 381.7 miles?

Answer:

$30.32

Explanation:

381.7 ÷ 54 is used to find how many gallons you need but we know it won't be exact so we will round up the numbers.

382 ÷ 54 = 7

The answer isn't exactly 7 but in this situation, all you need to know is that it is over 7 since if the gasoline takes more than 7 gallons, you need to buy 8.

3.79 x 8 = 30.32

Sorry it took me a while to see this
