The answer is no, because none of terms that are added by five will give you 97. Since 3 is the first term and you are adding 5, each number either ends in a 3 or an 8. When you get to the 90’s, you only get 93 and 98. In other words, 97 does not fit the pattern in the sequence. Which is why 97 is not a term in the sequence.
