x-1/3 = k

or, x-1/3 = 3 ( putting k = 3 )

or, x-1/3+1/3 = 3+1/3 ( adding 1/3 to both sides of the equation)

or, x = 3+1/3

or, x = {3(3)+1}/3

or, x = 10/3
