Using the segment addition postulate, find the value of x.

JK = 3x - 4

Answer:

When you say, J is between H and K, I am guessing you mean J is on the straight line joining H and K.

If this is the case it is a simple matter of adding the two segments: HJ and JK to get the overall length: HK.

HJ + JK = HK

3(X + 2) +(3X - 4) = 44

3X + 6 + 3X - 4 = 44

6X + 2 = 44

6X = 42

X = 7.

hope it helps you friend ☺️
