A question how do we decompose big numbers like for example 56.67 so how?

So i might not know what your exactly talking about but i think I might know

I think you might be talking about simplifying decimals

so

in 16.67, the second 6 is the tenths, the 7 is the hundredths

if your simplifying to the closest tenth then it will be 16.7 since 7 is closer to 10 than 1

if your rounding to the nearest tenth and the hundredths is 4 or lower, than it will be 16.6

If your rounding to the nearest hundredths, you need to round to the nearest thousandth but the example you provided doesn't have a thousands

also the number i am talking about is the numbers to the right of the decimal (.)
