Answer:

Explanation:

The area of a triangle is

A=bh/2 where b=base and h=height. So we first have to solve for h

8^2+h^2=12^2

h^2=12^2-8^2

h^2=144-64

h^2=80

h=(80)^(1/2), now we can find the area

A=8(80^(1/2))/2

A=4(80^(1/2)

A=35.78cm
