For this question you can use process of elimination. A function that is linear can pass through the origin, but it doesn't have to. Also a linear function can only cross the x-axis once. C could work, but a linear function isn't the only function that crosses the y-axis only once. So that leaves D. For a function to be linear it must be going in a straight line so that also means the slope will remain constant.
