The perimeter of a standard basketball court is 288 ft. Find the dimensions of the basket ball court if its length is 44 longer than its width.

Answer:

w = 50, l = 94

Explanation:

l = w + 44, to find perimeter we need 2l + 2w = 288 and we know l so substitute 2(w+44) + 2w = 288, so 2w + 88 + 2w = 288 so 4w = 200, therefore w = 50
