In the Scarlet Ibis, I feel like he is important because it Doodle’s disability is a major part of the story. Initially Doodle's doctor does not believe that he is going to live, but Doodle ultimately defies everybody's expectations by learning to crawl, etc. This shows he is extraordinary! It’s a thumbs up from me.
