If it was Figure M to Figure L it would be right 8 and up 7

and if it was from Figure L to Figure M it would be left 8 and down 7

You need only look at one point and follow it. On figure L, I've chosen (7,1)

Now think of the number of things that are true of this point.

It is the left most point of the figure.

It is on the end of a horizontal line.

Now where is that point on M

It is still the left most point.

It is still on the horizontal line at the end.

It's position is (-6, - 1)

So you are moving from (7,1) to (-6,-1)

This tells you that you are moving left 13 units

and down 2 units.

The problem is that the x axis looks like it is vertical and the y axis looks horizontal.
