DC² = 36

DC = 6

Well first we can cut the triangle in half and use the Pythagorean theorm

a^2+b^2=c^2

In this case we are going to be doing c^2-a^2=b^2

10^2-8^2=b^2

(10*10)-(8*8)=b^2

100-64=b^2

36=b^2

Now we just square root 36 (what number times itself is 36)


√(36)

b=6

Since half of the one side equals 6 (DC) then the length of AC is 12!
