• 3 + 2x - 2y = 11

2x - 8 = 2y

x - 4 = y

substitute top equation to this equation

3y-4 = y+4

2y = 8

now substitute this into second equation

x = y + 4

x = 8

check answer with first equation

x = 3y-4

8 = 3(4) - 4
