slope intercept form is y=mx+b. the answer to this graph would be y=3/4x-3 because the y intercept is at -3 and you go up 3 and over to the right 4. 3/4 would be your slope

Algebra I

  • Reading a coordinate plane
  • Coordinates (x, y)
  • Slope Formula:
    \displaystyle m = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

Explanation:

Step 1: Define

Identify points from graph.

Point (4, 0)

Point (0, -3)

Step 2: Find slope m

Simply plug in the 2 coordinates into the slope formula to find slope m

  1. Substitute in points [Slope Formula]:
    \displaystyle m = (-3 - 0)/(0 - 4)
  2. Simplify:
    \displaystyle m = (3)/(4)
