Imagine that a well-paid employee was arrested for shoplifting a $15 sweater. What sort of explanation for this behavior would be provided by the proponents of each perspective of abnormality: medical, psychoanalytic, behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, and sociocultural? Based on the potential causes of the shoplifting, would you fire the employee? Why or why not?

Answer:

A sudden, undesired or uncontrollable change in your personality may be the sign of a serious condition. Several mental illnesses can lead to personality changes. That includes anxiety disorders, bpd (borderline personality disorder), dementia, and schizophrenia and many more. if the worker gets checked out for mental illnesses and has some type of reasoning and makes sure it wont happen again then i would say they could stay, if they stole it for no reason then no.
